Neuroendocrine Cancer UK Virtual Pathway Challenge for my husband Dave
Ruth Hitchcock
My Story
I am taking part in Neuroendocrine Cancer's UK Virtual Pathway Challenge to help raise essential funds dedicated to advancing neuroendocrine cancer research.
We brushed with this cancer back in 2009 when Dave was diagnosed with a carcenoid tumour in his bowel. They subsequently found he had two and both were removed with surgery and he carried on as normal.
This year his health caused concern which led to some investigations and quite incidentally it was discovered he had a tumour in his liver. Further tests confirmed the presence of many more small NETs in liver, bowel, stomach, lymph nodes and bones.
We now start our journey to find a way through this and we can only hope that research and investment will assist in finding a cure for this insidious and debilitating cancer.
I will be walking my socks off to support him and the wonderful people who are trying to find a way of stopping this disease
Any help you can give would be so much appreciated - if it's not financial then just a message of support or a funny tale to keep us laughing through what feels like a very black time in our lives .
Thankyou from us both xx
